2019 Acadia Vineyard, Borderline Red, Columbia Gorge AVA

Borderline Red

This wine is made from Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc that underwent a 5-day co-fermentation on the skins. The two varietals were then pressed together and fermentation was finished in a neutral French oak barrel. That’s right, only one
barrel of this wine was made. It is a darker version of our rosé and reminds us of the antique wines of the Jura that are made by co-fermenting reds and whites together. This wine seems like an orange wine, though technically it isn’t. It’s not white or pink… it’s borderline red. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
